Bicycle
Decorating Contest and Parade
Will be held again this year!
Kids ages 6 to 12, decorate your bicycle for
Stratford Day and you could win a trophy. All children are welcome; you
need not be a Stratford
resident. Everyone who enters gets to ride in a brief parade right
through Stratford Day.
Assemble by 10:45 a.m. in the
Baldwin
Center
overflow parking lot. Just off the West Broad Street Green and the
traffic circle at I-95, Exit 32. Trophies awarded at 11:30 a.m. Parade
steps off at 11:45 a.m.
Trophies are awarded in two classes: ages 6, 7 & 8 and ages 9, 10,
11 & 12. Trophies awarded in each class for: Coolest Bike and Best
Theme Bike.
General public is invited to review the bicycle show from 10:45 a.m. to
11:30 a.m.
Bicycle Decorating Contest and Parade is sponsored by Bridgeport
Harley-Davidson.
Here
are a few rules:
- All
bicycles to be judged must be in place by 10:45 a.m.
- Helmets
MUST be worn by all contestants.
- Only
human-powered, two-wheeled bicycles are eligible.
- Training
wheels are okay.
- Absolutely
NO motorized vehicles of any kind, this includes electric cars and
bikes.
- NO
tricycles, pedal-powered toy tractors or trucks, wagons or
strollers.
- Parents
are welcome to accompany their children in the parade.
- 8
years old and younger must be accompanied by a responsible party.
- Absolutely
NO cars allowed in the bicycle assembly area.
- Please
park your car outside Stratford Day and walk in.
- Remember
bicycles may not be ridden at Stratford Day. They must be walked
with the rider dismounted, for the safety and consideration of
others. The brief bicycle parade will be the only exception to
this rule and will be guided by Stratford Day volunteers.
